CGH Earth Kalari Rasayana Ayurveda Hospital is the Kerala's answer to traditional ayurveda treatment with openminded and modern way of thinking. It is a place, where food is medicine and where you feed not only the body, but also mind and soul.
At Kalari Rasayana, the journey to healing is filled with many discoveries. Located in the lap of the Paravur backwaters and surrounded by thick coconut groves and floating mini-islands, Kalari Rasayana or the Song Of the Lake is a place that heals by its very tranquility and beauty.
An expansive feeling of oneness with the environment, an all pervading sense of openness that envelopes your body and spirit, a gentle throwback to a quieter pace of life where Nature is an ever tangible presence. Kalari Rasayana is silent song, which tune you with the rythm of the life.
Located in the heart of the backwater area of the erstwhile Venad kingdom in Kerala, the place is a veritable abode of peace. Gazing at its gentle waves, watching the fishermen going about their daily rounds on their boats, hearing the distant roar of the sea beyond the horizon, tracking the trains moving across the bridge over the backwaters and observing birds that habitually visit this place, absorbing the warmth emanating from the staff members and the happy ambience of an open space, all these and more can by themselves calm the nerves fraught by the vagaries of an urban lifestyle. But beyond this, central to the whole experience, is Ayurveda itself, practiced at its authentic and traditional best.
Dr. Sreelal, senior doctor and his wife Dr.Porneema, dietologist - are the souls of the healing place, truly old fashion Vaidyas with modern way of thinking. They meet with every patient daily and individually design treatment programmes.
Ayurvedic treatments are offered here by a team passionately devoted to the cause of the natural way of life, as espoused in the ancient texts. The Ayurvedic therapy includes various treatments suited to individual conditions along with their accompanying detox processes such as ghee intake and massages, besides internal and external medicines. This in combination with yoga, meditation and food are core factors in ayurvedic treatment.

Dr.Poornima Sreelal believes, that kitchen can be a pharmacy: "Food can be medicine. If you treat disease with the ideal drug, you can cure it. But, if you are eating a proper food, you don't need the medicine." She also believes, that our vital energy comes not only from the eating the food itself, but also from environment, breathing techniques or way of thinking. For example, when we are practicing yoga, meditating or chanting mantras, we are giving also food to our body. It's a prana for our body. We can feel it through all the sense organs, not only on the tongue. If we're seeing the pleasant things in the environment, it is a good food for the body. Or nice smell, relaxing music – all can be considered the food for the body.

"The food prepared with love is medicine. Women are creators, they have ‘shakti power’ in their hormones and blood. That is why we give importance to mother. If there is a God, there is a mother for the God."
