Sprit Image
SwaSwara is a special place. I believe it goes beyond the traditional definition of the wellness place, but at the same time it is not a hospital. Usually you go to the hospital for treatment of the diseases, but SwaSwara shows the way beyond that. The stay at SwaSwara helps to get rid of the diseases, but also shows the path to healthy life. It gives you time and space to listen to your self and follow that voice.

HOW WOULD YOU INTRODUCE RESORT SWASWARA?

SwaSwara is place to relax, rebuild and refocus the health of one. I believe it goes beyond the traditional definition of the Ayurveda wellness place, but at the same time it is not a hospital. The atmosphere here will not make you to think as you are in a hospital. The stay at SwaSwara helps to release from the miseries and diseases, also helps to find the positives of you and shows a path to healthy life. It gives you time and space to listen to yourself and follow that inner voice.

NOT EVERYONE IS IMMIDIATELLY OPENED FOR THAT PROCESS...

Yes, that is why we are offering three types of treatment programmes: Swa Well Being, Rejuvenation and the Detox and Panchakarma Programme. The Swa Well-being Programme (min. stay 3 days) is holiday programme, during which we are lightly introducing ayurveda, yoga, healthy activities and food. The Rejuvenation Programme (min. stay 7 days) addresses health issues arising from the rigours of modern lifestyle and The Detox and Panchakarma Programme (min. stay 14 days) offers highly personalized and individualized treatment and diet programme based on doctors recommendations.

SO, MAYBE FOR THOSE, WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH AYURVEDA, COULD BE THE FIRST TOUCH THE SWA WELL BEING PROGRAMME AND THEY COULD ENJOY BEAUTIFUL NATURE, WHICH IS SUROUNDING SWASWARA...

Definitely. The Swa Well Being Programme being primarily focuses on helping guests experience and implement various mind and body techniques based on the concepts and philosophies of ayurveda, yoga and meditation to create positive changes in one’s approach to the daily rigours of modern life. Even our ayurveda rejuvenation package also an introduction package for ayurveda, it starts from 7 nights minimum stay, we will not include any intense cleansing procedures in this because of its short stay nature.

SWASWARA IS SITUATED IN GOKARNA, TOWN CONNECTED WITH INDIAN MYTHOLOGY AND MANY LEGENDS…

Gokarna is one of the most important pilgrimage places in India. It is a sacred place connected with mythological stories of Ramayana, one of the India’s oldest eposes. Many Indian gods and goddesses were attracted by this place, same as nowadays pilgrims, who are coming to the Gokarna’s temples daily. It is a ‘tirtha’, pilgrimage place with positive energy and many of our guest are mentioning these positive vibes, they can feel from this place. It helps them to get rid of their own negative energy and absorb the positive one. The visit of the temple can also have meditative healing effect, and it has nothing to do with the religion or faith…

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?

I am a Hindu, but still I believe, that ayurveda is not connected to any religion, it is connected to humanity!

Spirituality is above religion. As the previous doctor in SwaSwara used to say: "When you go deeper and deeper you can see that ayurveda is just method to make the body and mind relaxed. When ayurveda started in India we had only Hinduism. Buddhism, Christianity and Muslim religion were not there at that point of time. Ayurveda's main intention is preventing and curing diseases and it has nothing to do with religion. For example, when we are treating some psychosomatic diseases, we have some rituals, offerings, prayers or chantings and ayurveda becomes more spiritual and we could say Hindu. But if you look at it superficially then it is not. Even looking into the chants as such, it is not the meaning of the words but the vibrations and the pitch created by the words and chants that creates a rhythm or pattern in yourself to become normal. It's more about the sound than the religious roots, because sound has no religion."

"I am a Hindu, but still I believe, that ayurveda is not connected to any religion, it is connected to humanity!"

CAN YOU HEAR THE ECHO OF THE AUM, SOUND OF CREATION, WHICH CARRY THE BEACH ABOVE WHICH SWASWARA IS BUILT?

As I have mentioned before, we should go back to the roots of ayurveda and connect with the basic meaning of it and listen to ourselves. The philosophical meaning of the sound ‘Aum’ is the connection between Universe and every individual being. It is a vibration, which is a foundation of our world. ‘SwaSwara’ means listening to the inner voice of yourself.

In our daily life, we are too busy to find a time for it. We are disturbed by all the noises of our society and modern way of living. Here, in SwaSwara, you have a time to calm down and listen to the sound of nature – the waves of the blue sea and the calmness of green forest – all this, creates the environment, where you can connect to ‘panchamahabhutas’, the five elements of the nature, which are also present in every human being.

THERE IS A BIG DISCUSSION, WHETHER THE BEACH AREAS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR AYURVEDA TREATMENT…

Yes, there is a big discussion about it, but I am pragmatic about it. Look at Kerala it is surrounded by sea and ayurveda is well flourished there compared to any other place. It is not the place but the state of your body and condition depends. I feel it is a myth that ayurveda cannot be practiced in beach areas, it should break. During the ayurveda treatment we ask guests to restrict the excess activities, some time we restricts exposing to beach everything depends on the health condition. There are also restrictions in exposing to the natural elements like wind or water during the treatment procedures as it may affects the healing process, but considering the essence of the nature in SwaSwara, I believe it is the best place to ‘listen to yourself’.

IT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT WORDS ‘SILENT’ AND ‘LISTEN’ ARE ONLY REORGANIZED ‘CHARACTERS’…

Nice thought! (laughs)

We are surrounded by the noise, but we do not listen only to ourselves, but also to the people around us. It is also caused by environment. The modern cities are transformed into the concrete jungles. We leave in the block of flats. Nature and individually built houses are vanishing. There is a big shift from village life, where people knew each other to anonymous city life. We used to communicate with each other, but now, communication is through the Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social platforms on internet. In olden days, we used to communicate face to face. Here, in SwaSwara is a time and space for it.

Silence is a mode of meditation sometimes it gives you energy and when your silent you are controlling one of your sense organ but I feel it should have its own limit being too much silent may make you diseased. So listen your body and inner silence. Here, in SwaSwara you have time and space for that.

AYURVEDA DOCTOR

DR.FIROZ VARUN

Ayurveda has many definitions as medical science. But the main idea of Ayurveda, not treating the diseases. We should see and take it as a part of our life and self-exploration. For me ayurveda means everything.
