SERVES 2-3 PERSONS

INGREDIENTS
  • ½ cup or 100gm of black currant (munakka)
  • 5-6 medium-sized carrots (gajar)
  • ½ cup or 100g of chopped celery
  • ½ teaspoon or 2 ½ ml of honey
  • ½ teaspoon or 2 ½ ml of lime (nimbu) juice
  • a pinch of salt

CARROT
A good source of fiber, carrot is an amazing vegetable, easy to add to your diet. It slows down the aging of cells, is excellent for the eyes and contains a large quantity of vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene. It also has cancer-curing properties. 

BLACK CURRANT
It has a high therapeutic value and contains complex of vitamins, like vitamin C, potassium salts and essential oils. This fruit is also considered to be an elixir of youth. It is a good diuretic and has anti-rheumatic effects and helps in the elimination of uric acid.  
METHOD
  • Soak the black currant in boiling water for about 5-10 minutes, strain and keep aside. 
  • Wash the carrots thoroughly and peel the outer layer. Now grate the carrots and put into a salad bowl along with celery, honey, lime juice and salt, toss well. 
  • Add the black currant and serve in a plate with a wedge of lime.
